Did anyone else have a fairly persistent headache the week after surgery? Today marks day 4 post op and I have had this annoying headache for the last 3 days. I thought it might be dehydration, but today I have been extra careful with keeping up the fluids and it is still sticking around. I was trying to avoid painkillers today, but I think I've reached the end of my tether.
Time for drugs and a nap. Sigh.

I did not have a headache. It could be from loss of fluids. Although I remember being so overloaded with them and swollen. Just be sure to sip and sip and sip your water.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finding the band. I am sure you will have an amazing journey.
if you are in pain, take something for sure!! Sip Sip Sip like Kristin said.
ReplyDeletePersonally pain meds have an awful affect on me so I never felt that great while on them!
It might be caffeine withdrawal, if you're not still drinking coffee. Other than that, maybe just b/c you're eating so little.
ReplyDeleteI DID have a really persistant headache after surgery - it was SO annoying, and the worst part was that the freakin' demerol didn't touch it. I think maybe it was partially a caffeine withdrawel headache, and maybe also a bit of dehydration. Definitely take something for it, there's no need to suffer...mine went away after the first 4-5 days, so there is hope! Hope you feel better soon...
ReplyDeleteDehydration will definately cause headaches. Unfortunately it takes a couple of days of good hydration to break the cycle too. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteyes, totally had those headaches...stay hydrated :)
ReplyDeleteperfect excuse to use all of those awesome drugs!!
ReplyDeleteI had a headache until I stopped the pain meds.
ReplyDeleteI also had a headache but soon figured out it was due to caffeine withdrawal. Started drinking my morning coffee again and headache went away. Hang in there!
