Thanks to everyone for your kind words on my last post. I'm doing ok, thinking about it less which is good I guess, and trying to move on. I've been back to boot camp this week, which was great to feel like I was actually doing something other than eat! It has been hard to get back into "band eating" mode after our holiday, where I ate like a normal person most of the time. My husband and sister were the only people who knew about my band on our whole holiday, so I was trying to stay inconspicuous. It must have worked though! No strange looks from anyone or funny comments.
I did take hubby to boot camp on Friday, it was really interesting to see how he went. See, he plays squash and swims, but he has never done anything resembling boot camp. He had to take a break at one point to avoid throwing up, and afterwards he said to me "You do this and then go to work??" (He had the day off). I think he has a new respect for my fitness, even though he beats me at just about everything else athletic!
Nothing much else to report at the moment, I have an appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. I haven't lost any weight since last time so will be interesting to see if he recommends an adjustment. I'm almost tempted to ask for one as I have been getting hungrier and have been eating more than usual, (not to mention that I've not budged on the scales), but then every now and then I'm reminded that my band is there and it isn't comfortable. I will see what he decides.
Anyway, I'm procrastinating. I have people coming for afternoon tea in an hour and we don't have anywhere to sit yet! Better go clear off the dining table.

The Good, the Bad and the Holiday
Hello there blogland! I know, it has been a really long time since I've been in to see you. In the beginning it was because I had a good secret that I was keeping, then it was because I couldn't share something bad with you til I had spoken to some people in person, and then it was because I was far away from my computer on a much needed holiday. So this recap may be a little heavy, I apologise in advance and understand if you stop reading now.
So here it goes...
The Good: On a Thursday, about 7 weeks ago, I had a fantastic day! I was weighed an measured after finishing up boot camp, and found I had lost 3kgs and almost 8% body fat! I was very happy about this, it put me at my Lowest Adult Weight! This was also a good day because it was confirmed I was pregnant! Having a baby was one of the main reasons I decided to get the band, so I was over the moon. I'd been to the GP and had some blood tests, and we thought things were clear. I was six weeks along.
The Bad: So the next day, a Friday, was the worst day I've had in quite some time. What started as some mild cramping during the day turned into excruciating pain at about 630pm that night. Hubby rushed me to the emergency room, and they saw me very quickly. I thought that I was miscarrying, however the news from the doctors was worse. I actually was experiencing a ruptured fallopian tube, my pregnancy was ectopic and they took me off to surgery to remove my tube. Luckily I didn't lose too much blood, and they released me about 24hrs later. I cried for the first couple of days, just about non stop or whenever I had to tell anyone about it, or when I thought about what I'd really lost. I spoke to my best friends and my mum, but my sister was overseas on her honeymoon and I couldn't speak to her yet. I wanted to tell her, but not in an email.
The Holiday: So where does the holiday come in? Well, we actually had a holiday planned for Europe, to crash my sisters honeymoon (don't worry, we were invited), and we were leaving 2 weeks after the emergency surgery. Luckily, the doctors said I would still be able to go on our trip. They gave me some anti-embolism stockings to wear on the plane, and told me that my physical scars would heal much faster than my emotional ones. So we went on our holiday. 2 weeks in Italy, sharing a villa with my sister and her new Husband (and a couple of other friends) which meant I got to tell my sister in person and have some additional emotional support. I still enjoyed our trip, but there was always the nagging feeling in the back of my head that something was missing. I will post more about our trip later, and maybe some photos too.
Anyway, so now I am back. I've had a few days at work, which I was very anxious about. Did I mention that I work in a hospital? The hospital I was admitted into? I know that just about everyone at work knows my business and I wasn't sure how people were going to treat me. Thankfully they were really good about it, most didn't mention it at all. The hardest part is there is another girl at work who is pregnant, and almost the same dates as I would have been. I'm trying not to think about that too much.
Where to from here? Well I've signed up for another boot camp starting next Monday (16th). I have over 500 blog posts on my reader to catch up on! And I need to get back into a normal routine, eating a bit better. I haven't been over the top bad with my eating, and only gained 0.5kg in 4 weeks of holidays which I thought was pretty good, but I have been a bit slack with the band rules. Speaking of routines, need to get back into blogging too!
Ok, that is enough for now! Off to read some blogs! xoxo
